Yi Li - President

Yi Li, was born and grew up in Shanghai, China. After having studied at Shanghai University Business College, came to Switzerland in 1994 for professional development and has visited hotel management school in Luzern and business school in Zürich. In year 2002 she returned to China working for a Swiss consultant company in Beijing and Shanghai and come back to Zürich in Sumer 2008.

Over the past years Ms. Li was actively involved as a project coordinator or project manager, on behalf of clients from various industries, she gained over experiences between Switzerland and China and has pursued with clients together various publishing projects in cooperation with China. 

She demonstrated good knowledge of the Swiss market, very familiar with the local customs and has an excellent insight into the institutional peculiarities of the People's Republic of China. Her excellently network in China and skills in cultural mediation to be particularly helpful for Swiss company to enter the Chinese Market.

Dan Fahrenholz-He - Vice president

Dan Fahrenholz was born in Dalian, China. After graduating from University of Science and Technology Anschan(B.Eng. in Materials Science and Engineering), she went to Germany in 2003 pursuing further studies. After one year of German language study in Erlangen, she attended the DAA Academic College of International Marketing and Trading in Hamburg. From October 2004 to May 2007, she worked as Trading Consultant for the company Stotz Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH & Co. KG in Neubrandenburg and later Customer Manager for the Representative Office of BST International GmbH. in Shanghai. At the end of 2007, Mrs. Fahrenholz followed her husband to Switzerland and has started the new career as a translator & interpreter since then. She has translated for Deutsche Welle online, Swissinfo Online as well as for some other agencies and companies. As a cheerful mother of two adorable children, besides looking after the family, Mrs. Fahrenholz also keeps pursuing self-improvement and self-promotion, especially in language studies. As a member of the CUZ Committee (since 2014) and its Language & Culture Club (Since 2008), she launched a Language-Tandem project in September 2014 dedicated to supporting and assisting people in learning foreign languages. Mrs. Fahrenholz is now working as a German-Chinese translator.

Yuxiang Xu - Secretary General

Mr. Yuxiang Xu was born in Shanghai, China. He received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in IT from the Tongji University, Shanghai in 1983 and 1991 respectively. In 1999 he received the M.Sc in Information Science from the University Konstanz, Germany. He came in Switzerland in 2000 and has been working with Swiss Re since 2002.

Xiaoxia Vögelin - Project Manager

Xiaoxia Vögelin was born in Guangxi, China. After graduating from Guangxi Teachers Education University, she became a high school teacher in China. Four years later, she started working for Guangxi Science and Technology Association, a science and technology center for teenager and children, where she gained great experience in project management for over eight years. Furthermore, she participated in the UNESCO Guangxi China Project and was the chief editor of the local student newspaper. In 1996 she came to Switzerland, studied German and successfully graduated from a translator school in Oerlikon. She worked as a translator and also helped the immigration department at the Zurich airport in German-Chinese translations. Since 2000 she has been working in commodity business ( with different education certificates). She became a Senior Sales Consultant and has worked since 2011 in a large and well known chronometry company. She is now also involved in a professional further education program at the Sales Watches Academy. Ms Vögelin is a project manager at CUZ.

Gaocai Yang - Project Manager

Gaocai Yang holds a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Medicine from Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhengzhou, China. He had in addition further education in Traumatology of T.C.M., Tuina and Acupuncture. He was an associate professor of Chinese Traditional Medicine. He is the member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (U.K.) , NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners (U.K.), International Organisation of Traditional Medical Practitioners and Researchers (H.Q.: Zimbabwe) and Traditional Health Practitioners Association of Zambia. Dr. Gaocai Yang has worked since 1984 as a TCM doctor in China, Sudan, Zambia, Ireland, England and Switzerland. He is a project manager at CUZ.

Yi Zhang - Project Manager

Yi Zhang holds a bachelor’s degree in International Economics and Trading from Beijing Material University and studied MBA at University of Manchester. From 2001 to 2014 she worked in various trading and consulting companies and had different functions such as business development manager, supply chain manager, strategy advisor, etc.. Since 2012 she concentrates herself mainly in language training and teaching. She has professional level in English and German.
Zi Zhang joined the executive committee in Chinese Union of Zurich (CUZ) in 2015. She is a project manager at CUZ.

Haiwen Ye - Project Manager

Dr. Haiwen Ye holds Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering and Ph.D degrees from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1989, 1994 and 1997 respectively, major in Power Engineering & Control.

He was Assistant at the Instutute of Process Control during 1989-1991 and part-time associate manager of Graduate Division of Department of Thermal Engineering during 1992-1997, in Tsinghua University. During 1997-1999, he was Research Scientist (Post Doctorate) in Institute of Process Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich).

In 1999 he joined Alstom (Switzerland) Ltd, working as development engineering in Gas Turbine System Modelling and Simulation Group. Since 2001 he was appointed as Manager of this group. In 2008, he was appointed as Project Manager of Thermal Products, in charge of Turbomachines' Scope of Gas Turbine Combined Cycle Power Plant EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) Projects. Since 2010, he has been Concepts Project Manager in Global Integration of Alstom Thermal Power Sector, in charge of strategic R&D projects.

Dr. Ye was President of Chinese Union of Zurich (CUZ) during 2003-2006. He is currently Project Manager of CUZ. He is a member of UBS Tennis Club, playing 2nd Liga in interclub; and he is General Coach of CTCZ Tennis Club (Chinese Tennis Club of Zurich).

Guanghai Gong - Project Manager

Guanghai Gong received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Zhejiang University, China, in 1999 and 2002 respectively. From June 2002 to December 2007, he was a student at Power Electronic Systems Laboratory, ETH Zurich, where he received his Ph.D. degree. In January 2008, he joined ABB Switzerland as a development engineer in the Traction Converters department. Since March 2009, he became a technical project manager for high-power traction converters.

His research interests during his studies included hybrid power amplifiers, soft-switched dc-dc converters, and ac-dc converters for aircraft applications. Currently his focus is on the development of traction converters for rolling stock applications.

From 2002 to 2007, he was a student member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and in 2006 he received the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad.

In the Chinese Union of Zurich (CUZ), he has been a member of executive committee as a project manager for liaison and propaganda since the founding of CUZ in 2003. He established the CUZ photography club in 2005 and served as the Secretary General from July 2006 to April 2007. In May 2007, he was elected as the President of CUZ, and in June 2009, he was re-elected for another two-year term. Currently he serves as a member of executive committee and an advisor of CUZ, and he is responsible for the organization and development of CUZ photo club.

Shuping Gao - Project Manager

Dr. Shuping GAO received his M.Sc. Degree in Medical Genetics from China Medical University, ShenYang,China.
He was an associate Professor and Director of Lab Animal Centre, China Medical University before he came to Switzerland in 2000.He studied and worked at Zoology Institute, University of Zürich as a Ph.D student in 2001,He was President of ACSSZ during 2001-2002.he transfer
to University of Basel in 2002 and finished his Ph. D. degree in Cell Biology from University of Basel in June,2007. After, as a Postdoc worked at Human Stem cell Research Lab, Dept of Obstetrics and Genecology, University hospital of Geneva, University Children
Hospital of Zürich as a in Lab of Urologic Tissue Engineering and Stem Cell Therapy; from 2009 to 2013 he worked at Surgery Research Department, University Hospital of Zürich and focus on human Fat derived stem cell and bone tissue engineering.
Dr. Gao shuping was President of Chinese Union of Zurich (CUZ) during 2011-2013. He is currently Project Manager of CUZ.

Tian Xia - Project Manager

Tian Xia was born in Tian Jin in 1978. He came to Switzerland in 2003. From 2003 to 2007 study German at SKK and NSH language school in Basel. From 2007 to 2008 study at the Basel school of Design Switzerland, Vorkurs. From 2008 to 2011 study at Institute HyperWerk, Academy of Art and Design, University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland, special on document-film and exhibition. Since Sept. 2011 studying at Zurich University of the Arts, special on Curating & Museum Education. He is good at Chinese calligraphy, painting, film and videos make, photography, TCM.


Cheng Chen - Project Manager and Legal Adviser

Chen Cheng was born and grew up in Shanghai. After having studied at Tongji University in his hometown, he attended the University of Fribourg in Switzerland where he obtained the Bachelor of Law in 2005 and the Master of Law in 2006. In January 2003, Cheng joined a local law firm in Berne and started his legal career. After his internship (2006-2007) at a renowned law firm in Zurich, he stayed with the team of Wenfei Law since its achievement of independence. Since 2012, as resident partner of Wenfei Law, he serves both European and Chinese enterprises in Shanghai, Zurich and Beijing, as his firm does for more than a decade.

Cheng joined CUZ in 2007 and was once Vice President of the Executive Committee. Now he serves as contact person of CUZ in China and remains devoted to serve the Chinese community in Switzerland.

Tianji Zhang - Project Manager

Mr. Tianji Zhang was born in Tianjin, China. He graduated from Wuhan University in 2002. After working as project manager in Yuasa Technology for 2 years, he came to Switzerland and pursued his study in HEC Lausanne in 2004. He used to be the Vice President of Chinese Student & Scholar Association Lausanne from 2005 to 2006.

In 2007, Tianji got Master degree in Business Information system from HEC Lausanne, and then he started 2 years job rotation in ABB Global Headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, ABB in China, and ABB in United States. After the rotation, he returned to ABB headquarters in Zurich in 2009, and he was driving ABB customer base program in North Asia to identify and develop the service growth from 2009 and 2011.



Jane Rüegg Lin - Project Manager

Jane Rüegg Lin, born in south China, holds a Bachelor’s degree of Urban Planning from China and a Master’s degree of Architecture from Australia. She has ever worked for 8 years as an architect in three different countries and then ran her own marketing communication company in Switzerland for 3 years. Since 2007, she has been working for Sika Services AG as Head of Marketing Communication for Corporate Business Unit Contractors.

Jane Rüegg Lin joined the executive committee in Chinese Union of Zurich (CUZ) in 2009, and she was elected as the vice president in 2011 and 2015. Now she is a project manager at CUZ.

Dr. Guozhong Wan born in Southwest of China, holds a TCM bachelor’s degree from TCM University, Guiyang, China. He was a TCM doctor and senior physician at the TCM hospital in Zunyi, China during 1985-2002, TCM doctor in England between 2002-2011, From 2011 to date as a TCM therapist at Gong TCM in Freienbach and Rapperswil. Switzerland

He is a passionate photographer based in Rapperswil。He started taking pictures since 2006, loves every aspects of artistically expressing his view of our beautiful nature, especially portrait and landscape photography, to him, photography is his language to tell people how he sees the world.

He is responsible for photography in Chinese Union of Zurich (CUZ), also partially manage and organize photography club events and the Forum of Chinese Union.

Yuqin Hong

Mrs. Hong Yuqin was born in Shanghai, China. She graduated from Shanghai Normal University in 1991. At the end of 1994, she came to Switzerland and worked as a translator and secretary at a clinic. Mrs. Hong is also an experienced Chinese teacher with more than ten years of overseas teaching-Chinese experience. She is teaching Chinese in various language schools for adult and children. She served as a vice president of Chinese Language Teachers Association Switzerland (CLTAS). Her interests are to promote the mother tongue teaching for the overseas Chinese second-generation children, and Chinese language education as well as intercultural communication and activities in Switzerland.

Within CUZ, Mrs Hong has been responsible for the CUZ forum management. She also initiated and organized numerous Sino-Swiss language and cultural exchange events. In November 2008, she founded CUZ Language and Culture Exchange Club. The Club, with its regular seminars, parties, and other activities, has become a well-known platform for language and cultural exchange between China and Switzerland.
