Guanghai Gong- President |
|
Guanghai Gong received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Zhejiang University, China, in 1999 and 2002 respectively. From June 2002 to December 2007, he was a student at Power Electronic Systems Laboratory, ETH Zurich, where he received his Ph.D. degree. In January 2008, he joined ABB Switzerland as a development engineer in the Traction Converters department. Since March 2009, he is a technical project manager for high-power traction converters.
His research interests during his studies included hybrid power amplifiers, soft-switched dc-dc converters, and ac-dc converters for aircraft applications. Currently his focus is on the development of traction converters for locomotive and high-speed train applications.
From 2002 to 2007, he was a student member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and in 2006 he received the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad.
In the Chinese Union of Zurich (CUZ), he has been a member of executive committee as a project manager for liaison and propaganda since the founding of CUZ in 2003. He established the CUZ photography club in 2005 and served as the Secretary General from July 2006 to April 2007. In May 2007, he was elected as the President of CUZ, and in June 2009, he was re-elected for another two-year term. |

Haiwen Ye - Vice President |
Dr. Haiwen Ye holds Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering and Ph.D degrees from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1989, 1994 and 1997 respectively, major in Power Engineering & Control.
He was Assistant at the Instutute of Process Control during 1989-1991 and part-time associate manager of Graduate Division of Department of Thermal Engineering during 1992-1997, in Tsinghua University. During 1997-1999, he was Research Scientist (Post Doctorate) in Institute of Process Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich).
In 1999 he joined Alstom (Switzerland) Ltd, working as development engineering in Gas Turbine System Modelling and Simulation Group. Since 2001 he was appointed as Manager of this group. In 2008, he was appointed as Project Manager of Thermal Products, in charge of Turbomachines' Scope of Gas Turbine Combined Cycle Power Plant EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) Projects.
Dr. Ye was President of Chinese Union of Zurich (CUZ) during 2003-2006. He is currently Vice President of CUZ. He is a member of UBS Tennis Club, playing 2nd Liga in interclub; and he is General Coach of CTCZ Tennis Club (Chinese Tennis Club of Zurich).

Xing Chen - Vice President |
|
Xing Chen, born in Shenyang, is currently a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zürich) since 2007. She received her B.Eng. and M. Eng. degrees from Zhejiang University in 2005 and 2007.
In 2009 she became a member of executive committee in Chinese Union of Zurich (CUZ) and serve as vice president. |

Xuewen Chen - Secretary General |

Xuewen Chen, born in Zhejiang China, is currently a post-doctoral research fellow at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zürich). His research is in the area of nano optics and light-matter interactions.
In Chinese Union of Zurich (CUZ), he is responsible for finance, coordination and organization.

Chen Cheng - Project Manager |

Mr. Chen Cheng has studied at Tongji University in Shanghai and holds the B. Law and M. Law degrees from the University of Fribourg. He has worked for a Swiss law firm in Berne during 2003-2006 and afterwards for a Swiss law firm in Zurich, which has a solid position as one of Switzerland's major law firms. His preferred areas of practice are corporate, commercial and contract law, international arbitration, intellectual property law, and migration law. |

Gerhard Rüegg-Lin - Project Manager |
Gerhard Rüegg-Lin got his Bachelor in Law at University of Fribourg, Switzerland, and his Master of Laws at University of New South Wales in Sydney. He currently works as a legal counsel in an international technology company. He is a specialist for international corporate and contract law.
In Chinese Union of Zurich, he is a project manager for liaison and project coordination as well as a legal adviser.

Hong Zhang - Project Manager |

Hong Zhang was born in China. In 1999, she graduated with a Master degree in Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, and was honored the Top 10 Students Award. After her studies, she worked as a journalist in the PR department of the Shenyang TV station. In 1999, she came to Switzerland for a doctoral position at the ETH Zürich Turbomachinery laboratory (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology). She completed a BSc in Computer Science at ETH Zürich in 2007. During her studies at ETH, Hong worked as a free-lance journalist for the online-newspaper Swissinfo.org and as a part-time technical interpreter for Alstom Power. She started her professional career as a business analyst in the Object and Order Management Team at Avaloq in Zürich.
In Chinese Union of Zurich (CUZ), she is a member of executive committee, and responsible for sponsoring.
